The pandemic has laid bare some of the reasons why health inequalities is such a key priority for our integrated care system. Birmingham and Solihull being such diverse places has meant that we have had to work together to ensure a real focus on how cultural differences might impact variance in outcomes and experience of care.

As a system we have taken big steps forward in how we work collaboratively, but also recognise this is the start of our journey.

Our values are important to us, and as a system we are working together to define these to help ensure we have a framework to support the next stage of our journey. We know we have brilliant people. Our goal is to ensure we are all working effectively as one team in order to realise our vision.

We will use the challenges and opportunities that we have as a system to build a strong leadership team that values the unique contribution of its colleagues. Together we will need to navigate challenges that we can only address as a system.
